Welcome to New Leaf Therapy! I'll help you achieve your goals through compassion, connection, and hope.

My practice serves adults going through tough transitions, dealing with relationship problems, or searching for a new direction.

I work with children ages 12 and up experiencing any of the following: sadness, anxiety, exploring their gender identity, and trauma experiences.

New Leaf Therapy welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and proudly serves those who identify as LGBTQ+. I am a cisgender female and can provide referral letters for gender confirmation procedures.

If you are looking for new perspectives that will get you what you want from life, call me today for a free consultation at (313) 652-1510.

My Approach

I am a licensed clinical social worker. My training focuses on understanding the person in environment, meaning I will focus on your potential and take a holistic view of your goals and challenges.

To me, therapy works best when it feels like a conversation. We will work together to define your goals and I will create a personalized plan to help you achieve your vision. Strategies may include talk therapy, mindfulness practices, coping techniques, or motivation enhancement.

Background and Training

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am working toward certification. In the meantime, I am qualified to deliver this highly effective treatment to clients of all ages to address depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and somatic complaints. The clients I work with report high levels of satisfaction with the treatment and as a therapist I love using EMDR because it harnesses the brain’s natural healing capabilities. To learn more about EMDR, visit http://www.emdr.com/what-is-emdr/.

An important area of my work is with LGBTQ+ individuals and their families, with a particular focus on transgender health and family issues. I completed the Clinical Concerns and Gender Identity certificate program offered by the National Association of Social Workers Michigan chapter.

I am nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), a highly effective treatment for children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. Some children who experience highly stressful or scary experiences exhibit symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, including difficulty focusing, acting out at home and at school, preoccupation with the traumatic event, nightmares, and social avoidance. TF-CBT is proven to help children and their families heal from these experiences.

My experience is working with children with significant emotional disorders, supporting their parents and the family as a whole. Before establishing New Leaf I worked in the Detroit Metro area providing home based therapy to kids and adolescents.
